Lapse

I wrote, directed and exec produced this film staring Val Lehman. It was funded by the AFC through Open Channel’s Raw Nerve program. It was shot by John Brawley on the Panasonic P2 and produced by Stuart Moulds. Just putting a scene up here as it is still in competition.

Stalled

Here is a small segment from the AFC funded short STALLED, directed by Stuart Moulds. I produced and edited this film, which went on to win a best director prize for Stu at St Kilda Film Fest and a best editor prize for myself back in 07.

Music Video #3

Another no budgeter ( i see a trend) I did back in ‘04. We shot this at Open Channel’s old bluescreen in Fitzroy and unfortunately some of the wider shots we were hoping to use were no good. We used keylight to key all the blue screen and then pretty much spent a month or so doing the After Effects stuff. A few things I’d do differently for sure, but it was really just an opportunity to learn how to use the 3d camera, some nice moments, don’t talk to me about the lip synch! ha! Worked with Matt Currie, Stuart Moulds and Willow Berzin on this one with us all sharing the load on animation.

God bless You Tube – found another music video I did long ago. Shot this on my little mini dv camera, borrowed the lights from someone and one of the guys in the band just happened to have a smoke machine! This was shot at the Bakehouse rehearsal space in richmond, again this was just me learning stuff with no budget to speak of. Simon kowalyk was my offsider on this one.

Did this clip a long time ago! We had no money for sets and stuff so we found this cool location at a cinema at highpoint shopping center. They used to have this ride there and they let us use the entrance hallway for a day…not sure about all those lenseflares! hahaha – good on the guys for posting it on youtube, I actually lost my copy.

The Last Andy

Here’s a pic from THE LAST ANDY, a pilot animation project I have been working on for some time. Teamed up with Scott Bartlett who did these great character designs and a team of writers, Colin & Cameron Cairnes to take my shabby first draft and make it shine. Suren Perera is on board as lead animator, I’ll co-direct and produce – if AFC fund it! The submission went in last Friday.

Here’s an amusing banner ad I did for Otaku Wear, I actually had to ‘clone’ out the split in this guys pants!

Russ Meyer

I just wanted to have a shot of two Watermelons with Tassels, but we need to shift those dvd units. Pretty happy with the title design for Russ Meyer and colour scheme, although those quote placements could be better at the bottom.
